Moses and Aaron Confront Pharaoh (vv. 1–5):
Moses and Aaron deliver God’s message to Pharaoh: “Let my people go so they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness.” Pharaoh refuses and asks, “Who is the Lord, that I should obey Him?” He does not recognize the authority of God.

Pharaoh Increases the Burden (vv. 6–14):
In response, Pharaoh makes the Israelites’ work harder. He orders that no more straw be provided for making bricks, but the quota must remain the same. This greatly oppresses the Israelites.

Israelite Foremen Complain (vv. 15–21):
The Israelite leaders appeal to Pharaoh, but he accuses them of being lazy. They then confront Moses and Aaron, blaming them for worsening their situation.

Moses Questions God (vv. 22–23):
Troubled by the result, Moses cries out to God, asking why He allowed this suffering and why He hasn’t rescued His people as promised.

Key Takeaways:
Resistance to God’s Will is Common: Pharaoh’s rejection reflects the hardened hearts of those who don’t know or honor God.

Obedience May Bring Hardship: Even when following God's command, things can get worse before they get better.

God’s Plan is Unfolding: Despite the setback, this chapter sets the stage for God to reveal His power and deliverance more clearly.

Honest Prayer is Welcome: Moses’ questioning shows that God invites real, raw dialogue with Him in times of struggle.
