VEGAN YOGA
1. All living bodies subsist on food grains, which are produced from rains. (3-14)
2. Those who dedicate their actions to God, abandoning all attachment, remain untouched by sin, just as a lotus leaf is untouched by water. (5-10)
3. The yogīs, abandoning attachment, act with body, mind, intelligence and even with the senses, only for the purpose of purification (5-11)
4. The truly learned, with the eyes of divine knowledge, see with equal vision a priest, a cow, an elephant, a dog, and a poor person (5-18)
5. One who is established in yoga, one with equanimous vision everywhere, sees his self in all beings, and all beings in his own self (6-29)
6. I regard them to be perfect yogis who see the true equality of all living beings and respond to the joys and sorrows of others as if they were their own. (6-32)
7. Persons in the mode of goodness prefer foods that promote life span, and increase virtue, strength, health, happiness, and satisfaction. (17-8)
8. For the embodied being, it is impossible to give up activities entirely. But those who relinquish the fruits of their actions are said to be truly renounced. (18-11)
9. That determination which is unbreakable, which is sustained with steadfastness by yoga practice, and thus controls the mind, life, and the acts of the senses, is in the mode of goodness.
10. One who is self-controlled and unattached and who disregards all material enjoyments can obtain, by practice of renunciation, the highest perfect stage of freedom from reaction.
