Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha told reporters July 4 that 13 people were found dead from flooding in the area, adding, "I think there will be more when this thing is over."
At an afternoon news conference, Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said hundreds of people were on the ground doing search operations and that about 20 people were still unaccounted for from hard-hit Camp Mystic, an all-girls Christian summer camp in Kerr County.

A Kerrville resident said he and his wife were taken 200 feet down the Guadalupe River and managed to survive while his home was damaged by the flooding.
"It was scary," Scott Walden said while describing the speed of which the water rose. "It was really scary."
Meanwhile, a Pennsylvania woman visiting family in the area said she remains in shock, especially given the volume of missing adults and children, many from Camp Mystic.
"It's not going to be a good ending," Tonia Fucci said. "There's no way people could have survived the swiftness of the water."
Guadalupe River flooding in Texas destroyed Camp Mystic, and the search is on for 27 missing girls. At least 51 people have died in the flash floods.

WEATHER WARFARE CONTINUES JUNE 17, 2025:
Over 3,000 people are currently without power in Ohio County. Crews are working around the clock, but no estimated restoration time has been provided yet.
Torrential rain and severe flash flooding have triggered a large-scale emergency in Wheeling, West Virginia, and nearby Ohio County. Homes have been swept away, roads washed out, and emergency crews are working nonstop to rescue trapped families from vehicles and rising waters.
This catastrophic flood began with intense rainfall late Saturday evening, flooding U.S. Route 40 between Valley Grove and Dallas Pike. The Ohio County Emergency Management Agency issued immediate warnings, urging residents to stay indoors and shelter in place—especially along National Road from Valley Grove to Triadelphia.
According to Wheeling Police, National Road is now completely shut down between WV 88 and Mount De Chantal Road, with West Virginia 88 also closed from Edgewood Street to Warden Run Road. Rescue teams have confirmed multiple successful rescues from cars trapped under water, and several shipping containers (Connex blocks) are now jammed under the Schilling Bridge.
In viral footage shared by the Wheeling Fire Department, Big Wheeling Creek can be seen roaring across Washington Avenue Bridge, submerging the entire area. Local resident Emily Crowe also filmed terrifying flooding on National Road near Blaest Tire Service.
This flooding event has escalated rapidly into a regional disaster. Officials are reporting natural gas leaks, missing persons, and widespread infrastructure collapse. Lumbar Avenue and Overbrook are also under water, with large obstacles blocking several key routes.
“This is a disaster,” said the Ohio County EMA. “Many people have lost their homes. Roads are gone. Please stay off the roads if possible.”
Multiple Flash Flood Warnings and even a rare Flash Flood Emergency were issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Pittsburgh. In just a few hours, 2 to 4 inches of rain fell, completely overwhelming creeks, storm drains, and rivers across West Virginia.
Cleanup efforts are now underway using heavy equipment and drones to assess the widespread damage. Roads in Triadelphia, Elm Grove, and Valley Grove remain closed. Elm Grove Elementary School has opened as an emergency shelter for displaced residents.
The National Weather Service continues to warn of more flash flooding as a slow-moving cold front brings even more rain across the Mid-Atlantic, especially West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina. A level 3 flood risk has been issued for southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina, while areas like Raleigh, Fayetteville, Richmond, and Norfolk may also face severe weather.
This event is part of a larger pattern of 2025 extreme weather across the U.S. and the world. Storm chasers are currently reporting on related events in Florida, Texas, and even globally in China, Japan, Vietnam, and South Korea.
