Media Twist the Truth to Protect Criminals: Damon Imani Responds to “The View” Scandal

In yet another display of blatant media manipulation, the hosts of The View attacked President Donald Trump following his post of an image featuring Salvadoran immigrant Kilmar Abrego Garcia, recently deported for his alleged affiliation with the violent gang MS-13. The image, shared by the president on social media, showed tattooed knuckles with the added text “MS13.” However, that text was digitally added as a translation of the real gang symbols on his hands—something the show’s hosts deliberately ignored.

During the segment, Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg repeatedly insisted the image was “fake,” “Photoshopped,” and used by Trump to mislead the public. But what they failed to acknowledge—perhaps intentionally—is that no one, not even the Trump administration, has denied that the image was digitally altered. The issue has never been whether the image was edited, but why it was edited. The “MS13” label was added as a visual translation of the gang symbols already present—symbols that included a marijuana leaf, skull, cross, and other clear indicators of gang culture.

Damon Imani, political analyst and outspoken critic of the liberal establishment, was quick to respond to what he called another example of gaslighting by the progressive media. “Nobody said it wasn’t Photoshopped,” Imani stated. “The text was added to clarify the symbols. That’s not falsification. That’s explanation. But of course, The View doesn’t like that, because it exposes what they’re trying to hide.”

Imani pointed out how the hosts conveniently avoided the context behind Abrego Garcia’s deportation: a foreign national with a criminal record and suspected ties to violent organizations, removed from the country under national security grounds. “The View didn’t spend a single second talking about the real threat these people pose,” Imani continued. “They’re more concerned with defending the image of a suspected gang member than telling the American people the truth.”

While Behar and Goldberg kept repeating that the image was “clearly manipulated,” they never addressed why the label was added or what the original gang symbols actually meant. Instead of responsible journalism, they chose to ridicule the president’s post and question its legitimacy as part of a well-known playbook: attack Trump at all costs, even if it means whitewashing the image of violent criminals.

Imani was clear in his warning: “The Left has turned gaslighting into a strategy. They take an image clearly showing gang-related symbols and scream ‘fake’ because someone dared to translate it for clarity. What they’re doing is intentional: confuse the public to protect their narrative.”

And the most disturbing part? These same elites live far away from the chaos these gangs bring. None of them live in neighborhoods where MS-13 or Tren de Aragua operate. None of them worry if their daughters will be kidnapped, raped, or murdered by criminals released under progressive policies. But from their cushy studios, they preach what’s ‘fair’ and what’s not.

This case is a perfect reflection of what’s at stake in America. While President Trump fights to protect our borders and expose the criminals sneaking into our country, the liberal media does everything it can to cover for them—distorting the facts and misleading the American public.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s image wasn’t a hoax. It was a visual translation. And if the media actually cared about the truth, they would have said so. But they chose to lie. Because in this political war, facts no longer matter to them. Only the narrative does.
