On Day 122 of our "Bible in a Year" journey, we begin 2 Chronicles with chapters 1-3. Solomon’s reign opens with his humble request for wisdom, granted alongside wealth and honor. He begins building the temple, a magnificent structure to house God’s presence, fulfilling David’s vision and God’s covenant promise.

Questions:
1. Solomon’s choice of wisdom over riches in chapter 1 pleases God—how does this decision deepen our theological understanding of wisdom as a divine gift that aligns human leadership with God’s purposes, foreshadowing Christ’s perfect discernment?

2. The temple’s construction in chapters 2-3 symbolizes God’s dwelling with His people—how might its grandeur challenge us to reflect on the theological significance of God’s presence as both immanent and transcendent, ultimately fulfilled in Jesus?

3. Solomon’s collaboration with Hiram in chapter 2 blends human effort with divine mandate—how does this partnership invite us to wrestle with the theological interplay between God’s sovereign plan and human agency in advancing His kingdom?
