Tonopah Mining Park

The Tonopah Historic Mining Park is a historical site located in Tonopah, Nevada, established in 1992. It covers more than 100 acres and is situated behind The Mizpah Hotel. The park was originally part of the mining operations conducted by several Tonopah mining companies, including the Tonopah Mining Company, which was founded in 1901. The area where the park is located was the site of the silver rush that began in the 1900s.

The park features preserved and restored equipment and buildings, historic exhibits, video presentations, and a self-guided walking tour. Visitors can explore original mining structures, look down mine shafts over a thousand feet deep, and see one of Nevada’s most complete mineral displays. The park also offers a glimpse into the tools and 20th-century mining techniques still used today.

The Tonopah Historic Mining Park is operated by a non-profit foundation and aims to educate and preserve the history of the local area, mining, and Nevada. It was recognized as one of the "Top 10 True Western Towns" by Truewest Magazine in 2019.
