Week 14 Readings of our 2025 Chronological Bible-in-a-Year Reading Challenge see us witness the appointment of two kings following Saul's death on the battlefield. Ish-Bosheth, Saul's youngest surviving son, is recognised as king in place of his father by those loyal to Saul, while David is acknowledged as God's choice of king by his home-tribe of Judah.

Thus begins the years-long rivalry between the followers of Saul and those of David, as the latter gradually rises in his royal influence beginning first in his own tribal land, then moving gradually over the entire kingdom as God intended.

In this tutorial, Chad introduces us to the Book of Chronicles and helps us to see that there's plenty more to the Psalms than songs of praise and worship!
