The FA has announced that transgender women will be banned

The FA has announced that transgender women will be banned from playing in women’s football in England from June.

The decision follows a Supreme Court ruling that defines a woman legally based on biological sex.

Previously, the FA allowed trans women to join women’s teams on a case-by-case basis, requiring reduced testosterone levels.

There are not believed to be any transgender women playing in women’s professional football in England or Scotland.
