North Korea and Russia begin building their first road link

North Korea and Russia have begun building their first road bridge over the Tumen River, marking a major step in strengthening their growing alliance.

The 1-kilometer bridge, expected to take 1.5 years to complete, aims to boost tourism, trade, and travel between the two nations.

Ties have deepened significantly, with North Korea reportedly sending 15,000 troops and ammunition to support Russia’s war in Ukraine, in exchange for military technology and equipment, the Associated Press has reported.

Both countries hailed the bridge as a milestone in their strategic partnership.
