Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston commented on the federal election on Wednesday and offered a scathing critique of party leader Pierre Poilievre and the federal Conservatives.

“There are many shades of blue… I think after four consecutive losses to the Liberal Party, I think it’s time for them to do some soul searching,” Houston said.

“I think there was opportunity for them to reach out and learn and work with others, they decided not to, that’s their choice,” the premier added.

Asked whether he had aspirations to become leader of the federal Conservatives, Houston said he’s “focused on Nova Scotians.”
