Milan was investigating his mother's Jewish religious family lineage. In this performance Kohout addressed Judaism and its focus on the idea its followers are “the chosen people” (chosen by God). This, according to Kohout, is symptomatic of most religions and as result of this exceptionalism, we can see the division of huge groups of people from each other.
During the performance Kohout underwent an “evolutionary process,” starting from being a nude worm until he became a human being who was a member of the Jewish religion. Then he hid his “chosen” nude body with clothes.
Accompanied by the authentic and terrible sound of a real hostage (Daniel Pearl) being beheaded by Islamic extremists in Pakistan, Kohout cut a melon with a saw and created a bloody yarmulka and placed it on his head. Then according by the orders given to him by “God” (as reproduced through loudspeakers), Kohout left the stage as God’s slave.
