Gameplay Part 9

Earth is burning. The Reapers have taken over, and other civilizations are falling like dominoes. Lead the final fight to save humanity and take back Earth from these terrifying machines, Commander Shepard. You’ll need backup for these battles. Fortunately, the galaxy has a habit of sending unexpected species your way. Recruit team members and forge new alliances, but be prepared to say goodbye at any time as partners make the ultimate sacrifice. It’s time for Commander Shepard to fight for the fate of the human race and save the galaxy.

In this playthrough we cover:

Act 4:
After ending their second multi-century conflict, Shepard is directed to the Asari homeworld of Thessia in search of the Catalyst, the key component of the Crucible, putting them on a collision course with Cerberus. The assault on this shadowy organization's headquarters mark the beginning of the end of Shepard's long journey to stop the Reapers.

Priority: Eden Prime (From Ashes DLC):
Shepard travels to Eden Prime in response to a Cerberus excavation. After fighting through Cerberus forces, Shepard discovers a stasis pod containing a living Prothean named Javik—a survivor of the Prothean extinction. Upon release, Javik reluctantly agrees to join the Normandy crew, bringing with him firsthand knowledge of the Reapers and his ancient war. His presence offers unique insights into the war's history and changes many crew conversations, especially with Liara.

Aria: Blue Suns Artifact Scan:
On the Citadel, Aria tasks Shepard with scanning terminals related to the Blue Suns gang’s activities to undermine their operations. Completing this helps solidify Aria’s control over Omega and earns war assets. It’s part of her broader campaign to rally mercenary groups to the war effort.

N7: Communications Hub:
Shepard investigates a hijacked comms relay station overtaken by Cerberus. After eliminating enemy forces and restoring control, Shepard secures vital intel that strengthens galactic communications. The mission reinforces the importance of the Alliance's intelligence infrastructure.

Priority: Horizon:
Shepard travels to Horizon to track down a missing refugee convoy and investigate Cerberus activities. The colony has been converted into a Cerberus lab experimenting on refugees under Miranda’s father, Henry Lawson. Miranda returns and helps Shepard confront her father. Depending on past choices, Miranda may survive or die during this encounter. Shepard uncovers disturbing details about the Illusive Man’s experiments and finds Orianna, Miranda’s sister, who had been a target of Cerberus.

Citadel Excursion 5:
Javik's first trip to the Citadel is tense and eye-opening, as he interacts with modern-day species with disdain and cultural dissonance, especially with Liara, who idolized the Protheans. In the Cerberus Ciphers side mission, Shepard helps deliver important Cerberus encryption codes, enhancing Alliance decryption capabilities. These quieter moments offer deeper character development and additional war assets.

Leviathan DLC Part 2:
Continuing from when Shepard investigated Dr. Bryson’s lab on the Citadel, following a lead on a being powerful enough to control Reapers. Shepard uncovers a trail that leads to multiple star systems. While searching for Bryson’s assistant Garneau, Shepard visits a remote mining facility, where Garneau was affected by a Reaper artifact and exhibited signs of indoctrination. After confronting him, Shepard returns to the lab and begins working with Ann Bryson, Dr. Bryson’s daughter, to continue the investigation. This ends with Shepard tracing the signal to Sigurd’s Cradle.
