As part of a recent partnership to support a healthy environment for growth and development for children in Tennessee, Optum Rx teamed with TennCare, Tennessee’s Medicaid program, to provide free diapers for Tennessee children through the pharmacy benefit. In the first six months of the partnership, 100,000 diaper claims were processed at the pharmacy. Providing diapers helps prevent diaper rash and infections can reduce emergency department visits. The diaper benefit also supports working parents, who often need to supply diapers to keep their child enrolled in daycare or an early childhood education program.
