Osprey Rescued!

Osprey Saved!

Faith in humanity has been restored! This morning , Denise spotted an Osprey in distress , high up in a tree near the cemetery at Beach Boulevard and Penman road in Jacksonville Beach. Doug and JB.i thought quickly to ask Beaches Energy folks if they could help without hesitation. Beaches Energy dispatched trucks with booms to get the bird down from the tree. Doug was on scene to aid the linesman to the tree where the Osprey was stuck. Within moments the linesman were up in the air and had the bird free!
Doug reported to JB.i that the Osprey was entangled in fishing line and had a hook in between its talons. Doug said, "The Osprey was probably taxing a fisherman's catch." Doug is now en route to St. Augustine to meet up with an avian expert to bring the Osprey back to health for release.
