New Yorkers demand an end to the Gaza genocide and an arms embargo now against Israel.

The rally was in Herald Square (35th St & Broadway). After the protest (one block from the Empire State Building), New Yorkers marched to Union Square and Washington Square Park, where they ended the demonstration.

Anti-zionist Jews of Neturei Karta International attended the rally and march on the "Global Day of Action for Gaza."

Next protest: MAY DAY (International Workers' Day). May 1, 2025. 12PM. Union Square.

"In the heart of New York City, the people have answered the call for the Global Day Of Action responding to the journalists, doctors and civil society of Gaza to affirm that we will stand with the people of Palestine until total liberation!

As the onslaught on Gaza continues, and as Western media continues to ignore the slaughter and the famine, continues to manufacture consent for genocide, we have taken the streets of Midtown Manhattan because we refuse to be ignored. We will not stop until Gaza is free.

As protestors marched on the streets of New York City, the people showed their solidarity with Gaza from the balconies. The people stand with Gaza, the people stand with Palestine," protestors said on Instagram.

"New Yorkers are taking to the streets for the Global Day of Action for Gaza, joining protests around the world to demand an immediate arms embargo, a permanent ceasefire, and an end to the Zionist occupation. Responding to the call for mass mobilization from Gaza, we are out in our millions to show that the world stands with Palestine!

As Gaza continues to weather the inhuman conditions of Israeli genocide, as the West Bank continues to fight ethnic cleansing and Zionist terror, and as governments worldwide continue to appease Zionist fascism at any cost, we must make it clear that we will not tolerate these continued abuses of fundamental human rights and the basic tenets of justice. Now more than ever, we must rise up and heed the calls from across Gaza and the West Bank: to intensify our mobilizations, to resist all normalization, to disrupt the semblance of business as usual.

Trump and his administration have sacrificed both international law and Americans’ constitutional rights to back up Israel’s genocidal project. But our movement will not be intimidated by attempts to silence dissent and punish those who stand in the way of the profits of war. The genocide in Gaza is the central issue of our time, and we will not back down until we see a free Palestine and an end to Zionist oppression.

Gaza is not alone—the world stands with the Palestinians, on the side of justice and liberation. Join us now at Herald Square to show that at the heart of the American empire we continue to resist, to reject imperialist oppression, and to stand defiant behind the Palestinian cause.

GAZA CALLS, NEW YORK ANSWERS!" said organizers.

"As Israel’s genocide on Gaza rages on, as the Occupation Forces continue to relentlessly assault the West Bank with the aim of annexation, and as the Trump administration continues its lawless repression of the movement for Palestine here in the United States, we heed the popular demands coming from Gaza and are calling for a Global Day of Action on April 25th.

This week, Israel bombed the last operational hospital in Gaza. For over six weeks, they have closed all crossings and blocked the entrance of any essential aid including food, fuel, medicines, and construction vehicles. Since the ceasefire was stopped, more than 400,000 Gazans have been displaced again with still nowhere to go. In the West Bank, more than twenty children have been killed since the start of the year, and hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have been displaced from their cities and towns as Israel continues to expand its project of ethnic cleansing.

Calls have come in from across Gaza and the West Bank—from the Federation of Trade Unions to the Academic sector—and the demand remains the same: now is the time to organize, now is the time to take the streets, we cannot leave Gaza and Palestine behind. It is the time to recommit ourselves to the long struggle, and to declare, to the Trump administration and Zionism at-large, that no genocidal onslaught and no illegal deportation project will quell this movement," said organizers before the event.
