The Strawberry Basil Margarita isn't too difficult to make if you've got a muddler handy, but it will be a challenge to double strain (it just takes a few moments). But, in the end you have a freshly created DIY homemade best of the best Strawberry and Basil infused Margarita for Cinco De Mayo (or just spring and summer cocktail drinking seasons).

🍓🌿 Strawberry Basil Margarita (Fresh-Muddled)
- 2 oz Tequila Blanco
- ¾ oz Fresh Lime Juice
- ¾ oz Triple Sec (or Cointreau)
- ½ oz Simple Syrup (adjust to taste)
- 2–3 Fresh Strawberries, hulled and halved
- 4–5 Fresh Basil Leaves

Instructions:
- Muddle the strawberries and basil in a shaker with the simple syrup and lime juice.
- Add tequila and triple sec.
- Fill with ice, then shake hard (about 15 seconds).
- Double strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice (or a coupe, for a cleaner look).
- Garnish with a basil leaf and a thin strawberry slice on the rim.

Optional Salted Rim:
Mix fine salt and sugar 50/50 for a spring vibe, or add crushed freeze-dried strawberry powder if you want to go all out.

Fresh drinks with fresh ingredients that won't cost you an arm and a leg. Head to the bar and I'm sure you'll be paying $12 to $15 for this seasonal drink recipe. Do that if you must, but consider building at home and saving some cash during the easy sipping months of spring and summer.

The taste profile is rich with strawberry and tequila, mildly sweet yet satisfyingly sour and brings a nice muted flavor of Basil in the background in each sip.
