I’m thrilled to explore the vibrant World Promenade on MSC World America during its first revenue sailing, and let me tell you, this is the grand reveal passengers deserve when boarding—not some elevator vestibule! The Coffee Emporium catches my eye with its Margaritaville-inspired upcharge sandwiches and a quirky coffee sensory experience where I sample scents like fruity apricot, herbal aloe, and floral rose (though the fake props remind me of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure). Disappointed by the lack of espresso martinis on my Easy Plus package here, I head to the Dolce Vita Bar, navigating a confusingly narrow corridor, and score a rum-based espresso martini for just $2.50—worth it! At the Luna Park Burger, I’m blown away by chicken wings, nachos with Doritos, and rainbow-sprinkled desserts, though I stick to my mission of sipping a Mai Tai from the Botanic Garden Bar. The welcome aboard party (no longer called sailaway, which bugs me) is a bit lowkey for a maiden voyage, with dancing and a fun ladies-vs-fellas showdown, but I’m distracted by spotting Icon of the Seas and Norwegian Aqua nearby. From the ship’s bridge, I learn we’ll swing around Miami to head south through the Old Bahama Channel. Quirks like high railings and no direct deck access frustrate me, but I’m already planning tomorrow: a haircut, Paxos lunch, and hitting the pools and waterslides stress-free. With creators galore onboard and seven days to explore, I’m soaking up the chaos and charm of this new ship, loving every moment of my cruise adventure!
