An estimated 250,000 people showed up to Pope Francis’s funeral on Saturday to say a final farewell. Among those in attendance were a number of world leaders along with pilgrims from all around the globe. Many waited though the night to be part of a congregation like no other. The faithful and clergy were joined by those who just wanted to be there. Redmond Shannon reports.

New day, same focus for Liberal Leader Mark Carney on the campaign trail as his message continues to focus on protecting Canadians from U.S. President Donald Trump. At his final news conference of the campaign, Carney essentially ignored his Canadian political opponents, only bringing up Pierre Poilievre in the context of what he wants this election to be about — Donald Trump. Mackenzie Gray reports.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is spending the final days of the campaign blitzing key battlegrounds in Ontario and British Columbia. Poilievre spent Saturday in the Greater Vancouver Area where multiple seats are at play. His next stop is at Sudbury before heading to the suburbs of Toronto. Poilievre needs to win seats in the 905 to form government. He’ll hold one of his final rallies in the Greater Toronto Area. Global’s Touria Izri reports.

Before attending the Pope’s funeral, U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met for impromptu peace talks inside Saint Peter’s Basilica. Their first face-to-face meeting since that disastrous Oval Office encounter in February. Candice Cole reports on what was said and how Trump’s patience with Russia seems to be wearing thin.
