If we’re serious about making Seychelles a world-class tourism destination, we need to rethink how we treat the very people who help build that industry and especially those who come here, fall in love with our country, and start families with Seychellois. Many genuine relationships are born in the tourism sector itself, at hotels, tour companies, restaurants, and more. Allowing foreign spouses to build a stable life here isn’t just about compassion!!! it’s a direct investment in our tourism future. When we welcome and integrate these families, we get frontline ambassadors who bring new ideas, languages, and international connections straight into our hotels, guesthouses, and businesses. But true diversity means more than ticking boxes. It means growing a community, not just importing a workforce. If we get the balance right, through sensible, staged policies like a proper spouse visa, we can make Seychelles the true melting pot we always claim to be, while protecting what makes us unique.Let’s stop seeing every foreigner as just a statistic or a threat. Many are already part of our story, and they make our tourism industry stronger. But we also have to get integration right!Move too fast, and we risk social tension; move too slow, and we miss out on all the benefits new blood brings.Tourism is the lifeblood of our economy. Let’s match our policies with that reality and make Seychelles a true beacon of diversity, hospitality, and harmony, for both locals and those who choose to make this paradise their home.Annou relev Sesel!Let’s make it unique again!
