Among the myriad suspects, one figure stands out: Dr. Francis Tumblety. An Irish-born American "Indian Herb" doctor, Tumblety was notorious for his eccentricity, flamboyant self-promotion, and a history of legal troubles. Arrested on November 7, 1888, for gross indecency—a term then used for homosexual acts—he posted a £300 bail and fled London under the alias Frank Townsend, just days after the murder of Mary Jane Kelly. His abrupt departure and peculiar behaviour piqued the interest of Scotland Yard, leading to speculation about his involvement in the Whitechapel murders. Back in the United States, Tumblety's notoriety grew, with newspapers linking him to the Ripper case.

Although many dismiss Dr. Francis Tumblety as merely an eccentric quack, a deeper look reveals a figure shrouded in mystery and suspicion. This video explores the enigmatic life of Tumblety, exploring his arrest, escape, and the lingering question: Was he Jack the Ripper?
