India Suspends Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan Amid Escalating Tensions

"The Indian government has officially announced the suspension of the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan and closed all dams' sluices. It's worth noting that this region has an extremely hot climate with almost no rain except during the monsoon season, when it rains non-stop for 2-3 weeks. During my two years living in Pakistan, I didn’t see a single drop of rain. Water there is worth its weight in gold, as the area is surrounded by desert.

Pakistan has warned that any attempt to stop the water flow will be considered an act of war.

India is also considering withdrawing from the February 2021 ceasefire agreement with Pakistan.

On April 22, in the Kashmir region in northern India, one of the deadliest attacks in recent years occurred. Fighters from the Pakistan-backed 'Kashmir Resistance Movement' opened fire on tourists along the Baisaran Valley trail, killing 26 people. This incident has become a catalyst for the escalating conflict.

Soon, we'll likely be watching developments unfold on the map? 😁"
