GLOBAL PEACE COMMUNITY
Perpetual Peace Pledge

In taking this GPC “Perpetual Peace Pledge,”

I, ____TYPE YOUR FIRST, MIDDLE & LAST NAME HERE___, as a registered member of the Global Peace Community (GPC) do solemnly agree to abide by the following noble criteria:

1. To henceforth identify myself as a GPC “peace advocate.”
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
Matthew 5:9.

2. To foster peace in the world by maintaining the serene state of spiritual peace within myself via the diligent pursuit of positive self-transformation.
This inner self-transformation is best accomplished by making the conscious, and conscientious, personal commitment to purge all negative thinking, traits, emotions, habits and intentions from my mind and heart by supplanting them with wholesome, positive thoughts, emotions and goodwill toward all human beings. I’m one who recognizes how detrimental negative conduct such as hatred, envy, jealousy, anger, fear, arrogance, deception, prejudice, greed, slothfulness, selfishness, egoism and playing the “blame game” are harmful to my life experience. I shall always endeavor to maintain a positive attitude of love, kindness, generosity, forgiveness, patience, tolerance, perseverance, forbearance, empathy, equanimity, forthrightness, honesty, civility, compassion and moral courage by living my life pursuant to “The Golden Rule.”

3. To never become engaged in violence; nor advocate, condone, support or delight in violence. I understand how violence in all its villainous forms is not only spiritually detrimental to my personal karma, but it also harms me physically, psychologically and spiritually, and moreover, functions as scourge upon the world.

4. To always endeavor to settle conflicts through constructive and open-minded dialogue, civility, honest communication, dignified respect, objectiveness and common sense.

5. To be the “strong, silent type” – that is – an attentive listener: one who is slow to speak and who avoids engaging in worthless, mundane, superficial or harmful chatter and gossip.

6. To avoid evildoers; and especially I shun bloody, cruel and violent people. I know and understand “association is assimilation” and the keeping of bad company always inevitably corrupts good morals. I choose to associate exclusively with people who are righteous, honorable and possess the positive qualities revealed in this perpetual peace pledge.

7. I’m one who realizes the power of practicing "good thoughts, good words and good deeds" as the best way to live a life of authentic ethical and moral goodness which does far, far more to foster peace on earth than participating in protests, rallies, sit-ins, marches and other external activities.

Henceforth, I dedicate myself to the noble task of advancing world peace by working diligently to pursue moral excellence in all my ways.
