The Decision You Make is a Measure of Your Willpower

Imagine you promised yourself you would not eat dessert today because you’ve been stuck in weight for years. A friend invites you to their house out of the blue, you go, and after dinner they bring out dessert.

A battle goes on in your head between the promise you made yourself and the voices that say “but you’re at your friends house, it’s not that big of a deal. Then your friend sees your hesitation and says “Hey Chris! You trying to be healthy or something? Cmon have a piece” Now you have pressure…what do you do?

The decision you make is a measure of your willpower. Willpower is your ability to hold strong to what you believe in regardless of the environment.

Now imagine you come home from work, you are tired, hungry, and your wife is also tired, and hungry. She says something rude to you. Yesterday you had a fight and you went to bed feeling horrible because you insulted her.

You promised yourself today you would be kind and no matter what, wouldnt say anything mean. She was out of line and offended you. What do you do?

The decision you make is again a measure of your will power. Your emotions are running hot and your body wants to snap back at her, but you promised yourself you would restrain yourself.

Once again, a battle within you.

The more you give in to these primal urges of food, drink, impatience, temptation, the weaker your willpower becomes and the more you will fail these tests.

That’s why every single test you face is a big one. You are either strengthening your willpower or weakening it.

Build yourself today.
