(This is another excellent discussion with Scott Ritter about Ukraine, Russia, Europe, the Middle East, Israel & Iran. About the only thing Trump can offer Russia is to possibly find a way to peace with Ukraine. Putin & Russian diplomats have been consistently clear about the root problems that must be resolved in this Special Military Operation (SMO) in Ukraine. This has been a hard pill to swallow even for Trump & factions in his administration & government. Ukraine & Europe are doing everything they can to stop any peace process. If peace can't be reached, then the Russians will need to finish this militarily & they have an overwhelming advantage. In that case, even more of Ukraine will become part of Russia.
Scott reviews the times where peace was possible, yet the war hawks who always wanted a 'strategic' defeat of Russia kept saying 'no' & supplying more weapons & pushing to fight on to the last Ukrainian. Early on it became clear that this was a conflict that the West couldn't win, yet they kept refusing to acknowledge the obvious.
Israel, Palestine, Iran, Yemen & The Middle East were also discussed. Scott sees that there is an opportunity to make significant progress in some of these areas, if people will focus on negotiations instead of fighting. As long as the US leads with the military, we are doing it the wrong way. Scott goes into a long discussion about this with examples.
Trump's tariff blitz was also discussed. The weak status of Europe was also discussed.
Towards the end, Scott describes a debate with Professor Alan Dershowitz about Israel that he was asked to join. Since he knew that they already had very different perspectives about Israel, he initially didn't want to do this debate. He then realized that this was an opportunity to show how two different sides could discuss issues without yelling at each other and calling names of the other side. In the end he was surprised that Dershowitz suggested that they have another debate. Scott uses this debate example to make some very important observations about how to go about finding solutions to difficult geopolitical issues. Be sure to pay attention, since some of these observations can apply to our daily interactions with other people. — RAD)
