Gedonia 2, early access: episode 14, the titan

Spellswords have the advantages of being a brutal warrior paired with being able to buff and heal yourself with magic. Both deal good damage to a large area and are more effective in close range for brawling your way through a crowd of enemies.

I haven't progressed far enough with this character or other 4 strength warriors to showcase it yet, but the fourth tier of skills in the melee talent are great attacks that make warriors stronger against longer duration battles. Warriors are already pretty good at the start if you overwhelm enemies in close range and go berserk--not the skill that buffs your melee damage, the strategy of throwing wild attacks at enemies in close range and pushing them around before those enemies can figure out how to fight back.

Casting attacking spells is possible with this build. I don't think it's worthwhile. The melee talent costs a lot of skill points even if I skip most of them. This might not be the case in the future when the level cap is higher and the amount of skill points a character can afford will be greater, but for now it's best to stick with one damage category and have anything else be incidental for your build.

How does a spellsword compare with other warriors? Buffs and healing from magic are appealing to improve both your offense and defense. Agility would be better for mobility and evading enemy attacks. Spellsword is very offense-heavy but you're vulnerable to poor positioning and timing, which are where a warrior with high agility would be far better--but that build wouldn't have as much damage. Charisma could be good for having companions help you, but is probably the worst subclass option of the three.
