How about this for a GREAT idea. Forget annexing Canada! Forget Greenland! Forget the Panama Canal!

Mr. President! My little suggestion for you — if you really want a 51st state — is to unilaterally annex the Vatican City State into the Union!

And then you can impose an actual Catholic as pope — which we haven’t had since 1958.
