Gameplay Part 6

Earth is burning. The Reapers have taken over, and other civilizations are falling like dominoes. Lead the final fight to save humanity and take back Earth from these terrifying machines, Commander Shepard. You’ll need backup for these battles. Fortunately, the galaxy has a habit of sending unexpected species your way. Recruit team members and forge new alliances, but be prepared to say goodbye at any time as partners make the ultimate sacrifice. It’s time for Commander Shepard to fight for the fate of the human race and save the galaxy.

In this playthrough we cover:

Act 3:
After securing Krogan support for the Turians to get their support for Earth, a major insurrection is discovered that shakes the status quo of the war. After surviving that, Shepard must once again attempt to end one of the longest-standing cold wars in the galaxy between the Quarians and Geth.

Kallini: Ardat-Yakshi Monastery:
Responding to a distress signal from the Ardat-Yakshi Monastery on Kallini, Shepard investigates a Reaper attack. Upon arrival, the team discovers that the monastery has been overrun by Reaper forces, with many of the Ardat-Yakshi either dead or transformed into Banshees. Shepard reunites with Justicar Samara, who is searching for her daughters, Falere and Rila. After battling through the infested monastery, they find Falere alive and Rila taken over by the Reapers. Rila is able to detonate the bomb in the great hall while the others escape. Samara, bound by the Justicar Code, prepares to commit suicide to avoid the necessity of killing her daughter. Shepard intervenes, persuading Samara to spare herself and allow Falere to live, and continuing her mission at the Monastery, thereby saving both.

Citadel DLC:
While docked at the Citadel, Shepard receives a surprise gift from Admiral Anderson—a luxurious apartment in the Silversun Strip, complete with a gorgeous view and modern upgrades. Anderson encourages Shepard to use the space for some much-needed rest and reconnecting with the crew. Shortly after settling in, Joker sends a casual invite to grab sushi at Ryuusei, a fancy restaurant located in a secluded section of the Citadel.

When Shepard arrives at the restaurant, it becomes clear that the meeting was a setup. Alliance Officer Maya Brooks appears suddenly and warns Shepard of an imminent attack, just as mercenaries storm the restaurant. With no weapons and only a handful of resources, Shepard has to escape the restaurant by crawling through ducts, commandeering gear, and taking out enemies one-by-one. Joker narrowly escapes by climbing down a trash chute, and Shepard eventually regroups with the Normandy team to investigate further.

Tracking the attackers leads Shepard and Brooks to uncover a deeper conspiracy. To gather intel, Shepard, Liara, and Brooks attend a high-stakes party at the Silver Coast Casino. Shepard mingles with guests while Liara helps decrypt security systems and Brooks hacks into restricted areas. The infiltration is stealth-focused, requiring Shepard to create distractions and avoid drawing attention. During this mission, it’s revealed that the mastermind behind the attacks is a clone of Commander Shepard, created by Cerberus as a contingency plan and recently awakened.

The clone, convinced that they deserve Shepard’s life, executes a plan to steal Shepard’s identity—going so far as to hijack the Normandy SR-2 with Brooks’ help. With help from the rest of the squad, Shepard storms the Normandy in an epic assault filled with close-quarter firefights, dramatic cutscenes, and a showdown with the clone on the shuttle bay. The final boss fight is intense, as the clone uses the same abilities and tactics as Shepard. After defeating the clone, Shepard watches it fall to its death. Brooks can also be killed or spared, but Shepard uses the paragon option to send her to jail instead.
