TikTok Influencers Flaunt Surrogate Babies at 1st Birthday Party

A pair of TikTok influencers have drawn widespread attention after sharing a video documenting the first birthday celebration of their surrogate-born twins. Joseph and Nathan Hughes had the children through Joseph’s sister, who was the “gestational carrier.” Their friend “Kortney” was the one who donated her eggs.

Joseph Hughes: “After a miscarriage about a year and a half ago, we finally welcomed twins in April thanks to my sister, Breeana, for being our gestational carrier and our best friend, Kortney, donating her eggs to us,”

From a perspective focused on defending the natural family made up of a father and a mother — a man and a woman — the recent cases in which homosexual couples have adopted children and were later accused of sexual abuse raise deep concern and reaffirm the importance of protecting the traditional family model as a safe and moral foundation for raising children.

One of the most shocking cases occurred in Georgia, United States, where a homosexual male couple adopted two boys and was later arrested for committing serious sexual abuse against them, as well as for distributing child exploitation material. These acts are not only heinous crimes, but they also expose the risks involved in abandoning traditional adoption standards, which used to prioritize a family environment composed of a father and a mother as the most stable and natural setting for a child’s emotional and moral development.

From this viewpoint, it is maintained that the best interest of the child must prevail over any ideological agenda. Adoption should not be seen as an adult's right to form a family, but as a duty of the State to guarantee children a safe home, with both maternal and paternal figures who can offer clear role models, emotional balance, and a healthy environment. The painful and tragic exceptions that have come to light reinforce the argument that straying from the natural family model endangers the most vulnerable — the children.

Therefore, from a conservative standpoint, there is a call to strengthen adoption policies that respect traditional moral, biological, and social order, always prioritizing homes with a mother and a father, and demanding strict oversight to ensure ideological interests do not override the well-being of children.
