. Proper Grip
Hold the frame of the jaw harp between your thumb and index finger without squeezing too tightly to allow vibration.

The reed (tongue) must move freely.

2. Lip and Teeth Position
Press the base of the harp against your teeth (or lips if playing without teeth).

Keep teeth slightly parted to avoid damping vibrations.

3. Sound Production
Flick the reed downward (or upward, depending on the harp type).

Simultaneously shape your mouth to transition from "A" → "E" (English vowel sounds):

For "A", open your mouth wide for a deep, resonant sound.

For "E", stretch your lips to raise the pitch.

4. Breath and Resonance
Use diaphragmatic breathing for smooth sound control.

Modulate overtones using your throat and nasal cavity.

5. Practice
Start with slow "A-E-A-E" transitions, then increase speed.

Experiment with plucking force and mouth shape for tonal variations.
