US Deploys Stryker Vehicles, Troops to Take Over Mexico Border

US President Donald Trump’s administration is increasing the presence of the US military at the southern US-Mexico Border. At least 10,000 troops including at least 7,000 Marines have already been deployed. Now, the US Army has received the Stryker armoured infantry fighting vehicles that will patrol the border areas. Meanwhile, drones have already been conducting surveillance near the border. Trump says only the US Army can control illegal migration. The recent deployments come at a time when illegal crossings on the southern border continue to drop. Crossings have dropped by at least 70% since Donald Trump took office in January, 2025.
