USC and UCLA students are gearing up to compete in the world's first-ever "sperm race."

USC and UCLA students are gearing up to compete in the world's first-ever "sperm race."

The event is being hosted by a startup called "Sperm Racing," which has raised $1 million to put on the race.

The competitors are Asher from UCLA and Tristan from USC. Their sample will be loaded into a "microfluidic chip' which is just 0.05mm long.

Once the race starts, the sample will race down a 20cm racetrack in front of 4000 fans, according to The Times.

The race is expected to take at least 40 minutes.

The founders say the intention of the start-up is to bring attention to the fertility crisis.

"It isn’t just about racing sperm ... it’s about making male fertility something people actually want to talk about, track and improve."
