702
Kenneth David Kaunda was the first president of Zambia and a key figure in the fight for independence. By the late 1950s, he founded his own party, the Zambian African National Congress (ZANC), which fought for the rights of Africans. He established a one-party system and developed a new political philosophy based on humanism. During his presidency, a railway connecting Zambia and Tanzania was built.
However, some of Kaunda's economic decisions sparked discontent within government circles. In the early 1990s, there was an attempted coup, and Kaunda lost the elections. The new government even stripped him of his citizenship. So, what legacy did Kenneth Kaunda leave behind?
