Flop Bluff Check-Raise
OOP as pfcaller
Look for cbettor’s who:
• Cbet too much (less than 70%)
• Don’t defend and are quick to fold vs xr
• TAG and LAG players who are willing to fold
• AVOID: flop honest cbettors, large cbet size, fish who open rarely
Good XR Flop Texture:
• Paired boards (used to be good)
• H-L-L rainbow (K73r, J62r, A84r) - look for dry and unconnected boards. The less draws possible, the more likely they are to fold.
• Dry boards where, to avoid being exploited by your xr bluff, they have to continue with marginal pairs and draws.
Size:
• Vs cbet size: smaller cbets = weaker; so target small cbets
• You raise ~2.5-4x
• Hit their pain threshold w/your xr size
Barreling
• I need to barrel most of the time.
• Checking turn OOP shows weakness
• I need to xr w/ hands that have decent drawing equity. Ks7d3c r (I hold As7s)
Practice
• Put ourselves in a spot to xr bluff the open-raiser
• Defend the blinds w/suited, connected, big cards
• When not involved: noodle on the hands you would xr bluff on the flop; what size would I xr bluff to?
• Goal: 5 successful xr bluffs
