$50/hour minimum wage to defeat inflation?

Not a joke, sadly. The people of Oakland have elected a mayor that thinks raising the minimum wage to $50/hour will defeat inflation. But since they're grossly INCREASING labor costs, it'll drive inflation through the roof. Why are politicians bad at math?
