16-year-old high school student rushed to the hospital after being stabbed at West Potomac High School in Virginia.

A teenage student was left in critical condition after being stabbed by a 15-year-old student at school.

According to police, the 15-year-old was arrested and is currently in custody. He is being charged with malicious wounding.

It's unclear exactly why the fight started. After being punched, the student in the black shirt was seen pulling out a knife before using it on the 15-year-old.

Authorities have not released any names.

"We have the video, just like you have the video, but the video doesn’t tell the entire story," Police Chief Kevin Davis said.

The student who was stabbed is expected to survive.
