Republicans and War with Iran

"Republican senators —and I'm sure there are also Democrats— but I hear about the Republicans, Lindsey Graham being the most obvious, but many others constantly pressure the administration to carry out a regime change war against Iran. "I won't confirm your nominees." "We're going to make your life miserable." I mean, threatening the Trump administration to force them to lead a regime change war against Iran.

What could their motivation be? What is that?

I think there is a disconnect in Washington, DC between the elected Republicans, except for those currently in the White House. Time and again, we saw the majority of Republican voters in many of these primaries saying they wanted fewer wars. So there are a lot of Republican leaders, in particular, who are completely disconnected from the base.

Now, I think the good news is that we're already starting to see that change, and it was reflected in the aid to Ukraine.

Well, it hasn't worked. It hasn't worked. And I don't think anyone who truly puts America's interests first in their heart can support another regime change war in Iran."
