My guest today is David Antelo, a man I wish I would have known when I was in Asheville, NC for Hurricane Helene. Going through the aftermath of that storm and being without running water for 3 weeks and potable water for 6 shattered my perception of how to be prepared. There was no shortage of water around me, but with no reliable test to tell what was in it after the mudslides and catastrophe, everyone got to wait for private helicopters to fly in bottled water that disappeared the second they touched the ground as a whole city scrambled to get water.

This was the turning point in my thought process around water solutions AT SCALE. This is when I stopped thinking about just drinking water (still critical and imperative to healing) and started looking for answers to some of the massive issues with the water supply and what solutions were being used to treat them at the town and home level.

I met David through Pure Way Filtration (he mentions Pure Way and Toppen in the podcast, same technology), through my interaction with Owen Boyd last episode on how to get clean water for your whole house. David's focus is on an even larger scope at the community level and at the commercial agriculture level.

With over a decade on the front lines of water purification and disaster response, David has engineered and commercialized portable systems that make water independence possible anywhere. The HydroVolt water purification line engineers equipment that require no grid, no constant filter changes, and no expertise.

He’s led projects for NGOs, disaster responses, and emergency field hospitals, and holds multiple patents on tech that transforms how we think about clean water and food security. Whether it’s turning polluted sources drinkable on the fly or helping launch microfisheries for local protein production, David’s focus is simple: solve big problems with practical, resilient technology.

His passion is to create technology that is cheaper, better, faster, and safer than what's currently out there. He’s building the tools for a future where communities can thrive no matter what’s happening upstream.
