Vatican releases first video images of Pope Francis in coffin with cardinals offering prayers

The first images of Pope Francis have been released by the Vatican, showing him in the wooden casket, in red vestments and his bishop's miter, with the Vatican secretary of state praying over him in the chapel of the Domus Santa Marta hotel where he lived.

According to Associated Press the footage, filmed on Monday, was of the ritual to confirm the death, presided over by the Camerlengo, Cardinal Kevin Farrell.
