How is amalgam (i.e., mercury fillings) STILL an acceptable tool in dentistry?

We KNOW mercury exposure is highly toxic and can damage the body beyond repair but somehow, mercury fillings remain dentists’ go-to.

Don’t you think it’s time for dentists to replace this “primitive pre-Civil War pollutant” with something that doesn’t have the capacity to cause neurological damage?
