🔴 A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.2 struck the Marmara Sea near Marmara Island (Marmara Adası) around 12:49 PM local time on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 (Europe/Istanbul, GMT+3).

🕯 The depth of the quake could not be determined, but it is believed to have been shallow, which made the shaking more intense near the epicenter than a deeper quake of the same magnitude.
