Black Gold

From the album “TRUTH”.

Oil built the modern world.

It powered cities, connected continents, fed nations, and fueled wars.
It gave us plastic, highways, jets, fertilizers, and global trade.
It didn’t just change how we lived, it changed what we thought was possible.

Oil made consumption feel like freedom.
It made growth feel permanent.

But every barrel pulled was a bet against the future.
We built everything on oil, and built stories to deny it.

Governments promised the wells would last.
Markets demanded more.
Warnings came and were buried.
Easy reserves dried up, deeper drilling returned less.

Yet we kept pumping.
We told ourselves there was still time.

Now, the system demands what the ground can no longer give.
The grid, the farms, the factories, everything depends on fuel that is running out.

There’s no switch when the tank runs dry.
No soft landing.
Only collapse.

And most people have no idea how fragile it really is.

This song begins in the final stretch,
when the last barrels are counted,
when the lights flicker,
when the world begins to understand
what oil gave… and what it took away.

This is the rise, dependence, and collapse of the oil age.
This is Black Gold.
