Eddie Hearn Confirms Dan Rafael Lied About Shakur Stevenson Firing Him

Last week, Dan Rafael falsely reported Shakur Stevenson fired his promoter, Eddie Hearn. Dan later clarified his tweet by saying, "Let me do this again, worded better: In reporting on the July 12th card with Shakur vs. Zepeda, a source with knowledge told me that Shakur Stevenson split from Matchroom."

Shakur Stevenson's manager, James Prince, hired Lou DiBella as his representative for the event to handle things on their behalf." End Quote.

On April 20th, Rick Glaser backed up Dan Rafael by saying, "Shakur Stevenson had left Eddie Hearn. Shakur is now with Lou Dibella on what I'm told is a fight-by-fight deal.

On April 21st, I did a show entitled, "Did Shakur Stevenson Confirm Firing Eddie Hearn?" The answer to that question is no. I asked this question because Dan Rafael and Rick Glaser are known Eddie Hearn haters.

There are a lot of American promoters, their employees, and media outlets that hate Eddie. I don't care either way. However, when you're emotionally invested in hating or disliking someone, people tend to lie about that person or tell half-truths about the person they dislike.

Yesterday, Eddie Hearn did an interview on DAZN with Ade of the Ariel & Ade Podcast. Ade asked Eddie Hearn straight up about his situation with Shakur Stevenson.

Eddie confirmed he has a 2-fight deal with Shakur Stevenson, and he's promoting his next fight. He also confirmed he spoke with Turki Alalshikh about the matter, and Turki confirmed with Eddie that he's the promoter for the Shakur Stevenson fight.

Ade opened his questioning by saying, and I quote, " You know how Twitter is, Eddie, when people make up lies/stories and run with them." I found that statement very interesting.

Why? Because it's true. When you have a so-called reputable reporter and boxing insiders from old media blatantly putting out lies and hit pieces on their ops in the name of reporting boxing news, that's a problem.

It's no different from what the mainstream media does every day on CNN, FOX, MSDNC, ABC, CBS, and others. It's the same thing certain YouTube channels do daily for clicks and views.

Dan Rafel and some others are no different. People don't like Eddie Hearn, and that's fine. But why make up a lie without vetting the information first?

If Shakur Stevenson, James Prince, Turki Alalshikh, Lou Dibella, or Eddie Hearn have not confirmed Dan Rafael and Rick Glaser's reporting. Why run with it? It's because the people involved dislike Eddie so much that they reported it as though it were true.

It's because they wanted to believe it to make Eddie Hearn look bad. On April 21st, in my opening monologue, I asked this question. "If Shakur signed a 2-fight deal with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Promotions.

How could Shakur break a legally binding contract without going to court or being sued, and then hire another promoter while under contract with Eddie Hearn?

Something about Dan Rafael's tweet doesn't sound right. We need confirmation from Shakur Stevenson or James Prince. If Shakur has not confirmed Dan Rafael's tweet that Stevenson fired Eddie Hearn, then Dan Rafael is lying. End Quote!
