If you do not have the time or patience to watch the entire film, don't bother. The anti-war theme of demanding young men go off to fight and die for the enrichment of the parasites and the indebtedness of the Denizens has been used every decade since 1890's.

The socialist theme/promotion in the latter part of the film was during a period when they published numerous articles lionizing the Soviet Union.
