Painted Skies

From the album “TRUTH”.

There was a time when the sky felt untouched.

Light poured down in fullness.
The rain was clean. The wind moved free.
Seasons came and went without instruction.

But someone decided that nature could be improved.

Not openly. Not with consent.
We weren’t asked.
We weren’t even told.

While we lived beneath it,
a quiet veil was drawn overhead,
in the name of protection, stability, control.

They said it was science.
They said it was necessary.
But not to us.

No vote. No debate.
Just slow changes:
Hazy light. Bitter rain. Quiet skies.
Birds gone. Rivers thinning. Fields turning gray.

Maybe it began with good intentions.
Maybe it’s still happening in pieces.
But nature isn’t a spreadsheet,
and we don’t know what we’re trading until it’s too late.

This is a possible future.
But parts of it are already visible.

A world where the sky has been altered.
Not for beauty. Not for life.
But for reasons we were never given.

This song begins in that silence.
Under a sky rewritten without our knowing.
A sky that may never be the same.

This isn’t fiction.
It isn’t yet fate.
But it’s happening.
This is Painted Skies.
