At least 26 tourists were killed in a deadly terror attack in South Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22, with The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy outfit of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba, claiming responsibility. Victims’ families recounted the horror, as intelligence reports linked TRF — formed post-Article 370 abrogation — to cross-border terror logistics, arms smuggling, and radicalisation via social media. Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowed justice, saying the perpetrators “will not be spared”, while global leaders including Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, and Ursula von der Leyen condemned the “barbaric” assault and pledged solidarity with India. The tragedy has reignited concerns over Pakistan-backed terror rebranding and TRF’s growing operational footprint in the Valley.
