Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Has Divided Gamers and It's WILD

Bethesda held a livestream to confirm, detail and release Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on April 22 and so far it has been an enormous hit. Besides the general Bethesda jank, the game has been living up to and exceeding expectations for the most part, but due to the technological advancements in the nearly 20 years since the originals release, things have been changed. Certain character models look significantly different, races have updated textures and designs and other models are just completely redone from the ground up. But unfortunately, this Remake/Remaster is not immune from the influence of the modern audience, as the inclusion of Body Type 1/2 has replaced the Male/Female slider in the character creation.

It's simultaneously a boon for gamers but a condemnation of the industry. Companies are listening to their audiences and giving them what they want, but also they are stuck in a creativity spiral where creativity is replaced with updating. What a time to be alive...
