THE IMPORTANCE OF EMPHASIZING PLAYING IN MULTIPLES CLIP #3:

Clip #3 features the 2013 Maumee Panthers. It is important to note that Maumee’s varsity assistant coach was Nate Wahle. Coach Wahle is now the head men’s coach at Muskingum University (OH). Coach Wahle’s performance at MU has been noteworthy. During Coach Wahle’s first season at MU (NCAA DIII), the Muskies ended their season with a 7-18 & 3-15 in one of the best NCAA DIII leagues in the Rust Belt, the OAC. The Muskies ended this past season (‘24-’25), Coach Wahle’ s second season, with a 14-13 & 11-7. Additionally, Coach Wahle earned COY of the OAC.

Clip #3 shows the first couple of minutes of the ‘13 Wauseon HS (NWOAL) powerhouse at Maumee HS. You’ll see the Panthers execute:
- Coach Basil Mawbey’s 2-3 Zone (HOF & Indiana High School Basketball 2-time State Champion)
- Lane/Lane, Blocker-Mover Offense
- Coach Dick Bennett’s “Green” Blocker/Mover Offense - Coach Knight called it “Triangle.”

This team took playing in multiples seriously. They destroyed my coaching stipend by earning a truck load of chicken wings over the course of the ‘12-’13 season. If you’d like to acquire our “Chicken Wing Reward System,” contact me at derek@myrustbeltbasketball.com.
