Lama Dawa Zangpo’s Commentary:
The teacher, Jack Kornfield is telling us that the Four Noble Truths are not a philosophy, and this is very true. What they are is a map. They do show us the entire landscape of the spiritual journey, and really even more than that of the entire human condition from beginning to end or as we say, from confusion to enlightenment. They show us what the problem is. They show us the cause of the problem, they talk about the solution to the problem, and they tell us the way to get to the solution to the problem. So, this is a complete map, and contains the essence of what the Buddha taught, not just to his students 2500 years ago, but this is the enduring legacy that continues that we use to this very present day. It's as relevant now as it was then.
