Pope Francis has been transferred to the Chapel of Santa Marta: red chasuble and rosary in his hands

Meanwhile, the cardinals are arriving at the Vatican for the first congregation: the funeral on Saturday at 10 am. The musical party that was supposed to be held at the Circus Maximus on April 26 has been canceled

Pope Francis is wearing the ritual red chasuble, placed in the coffin in the Chapel of Santa Marta: he has a rosary in his hands, the pallium (liturgical vestment) and, on his head, the white miter.

Meanwhile, the cardinals are arriving at the Vatican for the first congregation.

According to the Ordo Exsequiarum Romani Pontificis, the liturgical text that defines the rules and procedures for what happens after the death of a Pope, the funeral of the Pontiff takes place between the fourth and sixth day after the Pope's death, therefore between Friday and Sunday.

The press office of the Holy See has reported that the chosen date will be Saturday 26, at ten in the morning.
