Rabbi Yaron Reuven explains that judges in ancient Israel were held to a higher standard and were not to be accused of wrongdoing due to potential bias. However, the wicked often accuse the righteous of wrongdoing, even rabbis who have dedicated their lives to Torah study.

The sages warn that judging the judges unfairly is a disaster because it can lead people to suspect the righteous and give benefit of the doubt to the wicked. True righteous individuals, such as rabbis, are different from ordinary people in their perception of the world and the importance of following Torah.
